Canary Wharf: Stars turn out in Jubilee Mall challenge

Tim gives the thumbs-up, but Adrian has one more trick up his sleeve!

By ALAN THATCHER
Adrian Grant, Tim Garner and Joe Lee enjoyed a three-way battle  for supremacy today during a hotly-disputed competition in the build-up to the Canary Wharf Classic.
Instead of taking to the squash court, the three were entertaining members of the public in Canary Wharf’s Jubilee Shopping Mall in a Batak reaction game.
The idea is to hit random lights on the apparatus as often as possible in 30 seconds.
Wild card Joe set the standard with an early score of  38 but Grant and Garner took the competition to a new level.
But when tournament promoter Garner celebrated with a photocall after recording an impressive score of 43, Grant came back to have another go and recorded a winning score of 44.
Several passers-by had a go as Jubilee Mall filled up at lunchtime and anyone with a score 24 and above goes into a draw for free tickets and some squash goodies.

PAUL ON THE BALL IN THE MALL
On Friday Tim was joined by Daryl Selby but the England ace couldn’t match the high-speed reactions of TG and Adrian.
However, just as Tim was celebrating a superb score of 48, Roehampton coach Paul Lindsay stepped up and equalled that amazing score on the Batak apparatus.
