The 2013 Allam British Open has attracted funding and partners from Yorkshire who will play their part in helping to bring the most iconic squash event to the county.

The British Open Masters event will take place between May 22-26 at the University of Hull, a thriving sporting university where England Squash & Racketball are investing funds to help redevelop the squash facilities and to create a state of the art sporting environment.

Forsyth Business Centres, one of the UK’s longest established providers of serviced offices and flexible workspace, are the official partner to the British Open Masters event.

Commenting on Forsyth’s sponsorship of the Masters, Director Scott McCabe said: “We are absolutely delighted to be able to partner the Masters in 2013, particularly as the Tournament comes to Yorkshire, where, via our network of regional centres in Sheffield, Leeds, York, Harrogate and Scarborough, we will be able to further enhance the profile of this fantastic sport.”

Scott added: “Coming from a family of keen squash players, together with Forsyth, we are all looking forward to playing a part in enhancing the profile of squash sufficiently so that it may be considered as an Olympic event in coming years”.

Masters players ranging from over 35s to over 80s are expected from all over the world to take part in this prestigious event with entries opening in the New Year.

Pontefract Squash Club, home to current world number one James Willstrop, will host the PSA & WSA qualification events between May 18-20 as well as the women’s first round on May 21, before the main draws move to the KC Stadium in Hull.

Following the resounding success of the Pre-Qualification event in London last season, the 2013 Allam British Open Pre-Qualification is coming back even bigger and better, giving more people the chance to take part in the British Open.  Four venues across the country will host the Pre-Qualification events  in late April with full details to be announced in January.
