Investment firm partners Squash Super League, PSA signs French TV deal

The reborn Optasia Squash Super League has been given a boost after Aspect Capital was unveiled as its latest sponsor.

Aspect Capital, a global investment manager, has a history of supporting squash events including the London Open and the English Junior Championships.

The partnership will boost the delivery of the event significantly including enhanced tournament software and extended worldwide coverage.

Joey Barrington, Commercial Manager at England Squash, said: “We’re thrilled to partner with a dynamic and innovative company such as Aspect Capital to support the league’s debut season. The league has garnered significant attention within the squash community and this funding boost will take the league to the next level and support enhanced delivery of this new world-class spectacle.”

The support from Aspect Capital builds on the league’s current roster of high profile sponsorship and partnership deals including Optasia and Adidas.

Meanwhile, the Professional Squash Association has signed an agreement with Sport en France, which will see a selection of PSA Squash Tour events shown live by the free-to-air broadcaster during the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

The first event to be broadcast under the agreement will be the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions, which will occur between 23 – 30 January 2025 in New York.

This agreement forms part of a broader initiative by Sport en France and the Fédération Française de Squash to promote French and international squash ahead of the sport’s debut at the LA28 Olympic Games. The partnership includes the broadcast of international tournaments, world competitions, national events, and the creation and distribution of squash-related magazines and reports.

Sport en France Director Romain Schindler said:  “With squash set to debut at the LA28 Olympics, we have a unique opportunity to showcase French and international squash to a wider audience. We look forward to developing an engaging narrative for the sport over the next four years.”
