Olympics: Cricket legends back the bid

lashingsmoteIt was wonderful to see a big crowd at my home club, The Mote in Maidstone, as the Lashings World XI brought some of cricket’s greatest legends to the ground yesterday.

The Mote Squash Club is next door to the cricket pavilion, and, dare I say, our balcony has the best view of the action.

Not to miss a trick, our trusty sleuth photographer Bryan Lintott tracked down some of the cricketers and asked them to pose with a Squash 2020 sign.

Here they are (left to right) Phil De Freitas, Devon Malcolm, Lashings owner David Folb, John Emburey and John Lever.

David Folb, restaurant owner, hotelier and founder of the Lashings World XI, is a member of The Mote Squash Club.
He can often be seen turning up at the club with an international cricketer as his playing partner.
