By Squash Mad Reporter

SQUASHTV, the OTT platform owned by the Professional Squash Association (PSA), is once again the home of live squash worldwide, with over 600 live squash matches expected to be broadcast on the platform in 2021.

Previously, live squash was only available to SQUASHTV subscribers in territories outside of Europe due to a broadcast agreement with Eurosport Player. However, from today (February 8), SQUASHTV will be the only place in Europe, including UK and Ireland, to watch all of the glass court action live from major PSA World Tour events.

Live action on SQUASHTV will kick off with the AJ Bell England Squash Championships in Manchester between February 9-12, while the CIB PSA Black Ball Squash Open will take place between March 12-25 with back-to-back men’s and women’s events featuring all of the world’s top-ranked players. A full calendar of PSA World Tour events for the rest of this season will be revealed next week.

In addition to live squash, SQUASHTV subscribers can also access a host of video on demand content, including feature interviews with players, coaching videos, full match replays and extensive highlights.

While SQUASHTV will bring viewers live action from every match broadcast from the PSA World Tour, squash fans can also watch the semi-finals and finals from major events on the channels of PSA’s contracted broadcast partners.

Matches up to and including the quarter-finals will also continue to be broadcast live via Facebook Watch in territories outside of Europe and Japan. Semis and finals will be shown live on Facebook Watch in the Indian subcontinent.

“We have made a number of improvements to our service over the past decade and look forward to welcoming back our fans from across Europe,” said PSA Chief Executive Alex Gough.

“Despite the challenges presented by the global COVID-19 pandemic, we are close to finalising a strong broadcast calendar of events including multiple tournaments outside of the PSA World Tour. In this light, we are pleased to kick off 2021 with the AJ Bell England Squash Championships tomorrow in partnership with England Squash, followed by the CIB PSA Black Ball Squash Open next month.

“They will be the first of a series of tournaments that we will broadcasting via SQUASHTV this year and I look forward to announcing the full calendar until mid-July shortly.”
