The season-ending PSA Squash Tour Finals will be held in Canada for the first time in the event’s history when SmartCentres’ Revival Film Studios in Toronto hosts the world’s leading squash players for five days, between June 25-29.
A state-of-the-art all-glass show court will be erected at Revival Film Studios (formally known as Toronto Film Studios), where players will compete in a round-robin group stage using a best-of-three games format.
The top two from each group will qualify for the knockout semi-finals, and the finals will revert to the traditional best-of-five games format used in most regular PSA Squash Tour events.
“We’re delighted to bring the SmartCentres PSA Squash Tour Finals to Canada for the first time,” said PSA Chief Executive Alex Gough.
“This will be the second year in succession that the tournament has been held in North America and it will be the sixth PSA World Event to take place in Canada this season as professional squash continues to grow in the country.
“The SmartCentres PSA Squash Tour Finals always delivers a spectacular finale to the season, and I’m sure that this season’s event will be no different given this has been one of the most exciting and fiercely competitive seasons in the history of the sport. I’d like to thank Mitchell Goldhar (SmartCentres Founder, Executive Chairman & CEO) for his support in helping us secure this fantastic venue, and I look forward to watching the world’s best squash players bring the curtain down on the 2025-26 campaign.”
“The prestigious SmartCentres PSA Tour Finals, often held overseas, is the rare coming together of some of the world’s greatest athletes. With the event taking place this year in our city for the first time, I’m sure Torontonians are eager to show support to the world’s top squash players in advance of their upcoming Olympic debut at the LA28 Games,” said SmartCentres REIT Founder, Executive Chairman & CEO Mitchell Goldhar.
“Squash is a unique, character-building sport—one of the most physically demanding— with a culture that embodies healthy life values such as discipline, perseverance, and inclusiveness. We are proud that a portion of the proceeds from the SmartCentres PSA Tour Finals will support Urban Squash Toronto, a not-for-profit charity committed to providing underserved youth with access to intensive squash training, mentorship, and character and skills development.”
How to qualify for PSA Squash Finals
The SmartCentres PSA Squash Tour Finals, the final event of the 2024-25 PSA Squash Tour season, includes both a men’s and women’s tournament featuring eight players each.
To qualify for the event, players must win a prestigious Diamond title, whilst the reigning World Champions also qualify automatically. Any remaining places are allocated to the highest ranked players on the Road to Tour Finals standings, with points on offer at all PSA World Events during the season.
Egyptian duo Mostafa Asal and Nour El Sherbini have already qualified for the season-ending event after their wins at the CIB Egyptian Open in September, which was the first Diamond event of the season. Asal sits on top of the men’s Road to Tour Finals standings, while World No.1 Nouran Gohar heads the women’s standings.
There are just eight World Events left this season. The PSA World Championships presented by the Walter Family (May 9-17) and the GillenMarkets British Open (May 31 – June 8) will represent the final chances for players to qualify automatically.
