Voting to close on England Squash Awards

Nominations for the sixth annual England Squash Awards close on Sunday. The awards celebrate individuals and clubs across the country who have gone the extra mile in making a positive impact within the squash community in 2023.

New for this year is the Community Project of the Year award, dedicated to a newly created or recently successful inclusive project that brings squash and a local community together in a positive way.

The Awards are a chance to recognise the inspirational work of people across the sport, and celebrate and showcase their stories and achievements across eight categories:

  • Coach of the Year
  • Unsung Hero of the Year
  • Club/Venue of the Year
  • Young Volunteer/Coach of the Year
  • Referee of the Year
  • Rising star of the Year
  • Community Project of the Year
  • Moment of the Year (public vote)

Mark Williams, CEO of England Squash, said: “A huge amount of work goes on in squash clubs and leisure centres up and down the country every single week to get people playing.

“The England Squash Awards are a chance for us to recognise and celebrate the amazing contributions made by passionate people across the game.

“It is so important that we make time to highlight some of the great individuals that do such a fantastic job supporting the game and helping it to thrive.

“Learning about the fantastic contributions people are making at the game’s grassroots is always one of the highlights of the year and I would encourage everyone who loves squash to consider nominating someone that has made a difference.”

Nominations are now open and the squash community has until 5pm on March 3 to nominate anyone who has made an outstanding contribution to the sport in 2023.
