Welcome to the new squashuk.com

SquashUK has been relaunched!

Welcome to the new-look SquashUK website. Many thanks to my son James for his extraordinary technological talents for setting things up.

I intend to pen regular columns on squash covering a wide variety of subjects, including news, interviews, tournaments and coaching.

Squash is at the crossroads in many respects. While the world tour is attracting a handful of new events, the most prestigious of them all, the British Open, is struggling to stay alive.

And while squash is growing in many emerging nations, the UK scene is a constant battle to keep the sport alive in many towns and cities as clubs big and small are sold off to developers and fitness chains.

The business of squash, like any other sport, needs to adapt to changing times to be competitive. I am convinced that squash needs to be part of a new style of community sports club where squash is a key, seven-day operation, providing healthy sporting activity for local youngsters.

That’s the starting point of our business.  Just look at Egypt. More on that at a later date.

I hope you will enjoy visiting SquashUK and look forward to your feedback.
