Briggs Brings Home Vendee Open Crown

Fourth seed Lauren Briggs was the winner of the inaugural WISPA Vendee Open in France – and achieved her surprise success without beating a higher-seeded opponent in the WISPA World Tour Tour 4 squash event at Squash Yonnaisin La Roche-sur-Yon.

The 31-year-old from London reached the final – the tenth Tour climax of her career – after overcoming a trio of Frenchwomen, including Cyrielle PeltierCelia Allamargot and Maud Duplomb

And in the final, Briggs battled for four games before getting the better of South Africa’s seventh seed Siyoli Waters, winning 11-8, 11-7, 11-13, 11-5 to notch up the seventh Tour title of her career.
