The New Yorker magazine sent writer Tad Friend to interview former world champion Nick Matthew at the StreetSquash headquarters in Harlem.
His visit came two days after his English rival James Willstrop had visited the same facility to enjoy a hit with the kids and pass on some tips to members of one of the most imaginative and well-funded urban squash programs in the States.
Nick was obviously joking, but his tongue-in-cheek remarks about his ongoing competition with James had some real bite and offer an insight into their relationship.
Both players were in New York, competing in the Tournament of Champions.
They avoided each other in the draw, but this time the two former champions departed at the semi-final stage, Matthew losing to Gregory Gaultier and Willstrop to the eventual third-time champion Ramy Ashour.
I love the cartoon, by the way.
