  1. What I admired most about Jansher was the fact that when he arrived on the scene, as a skinny 17-year-old, Jahangir was already the greatest player on the planet.
Jansher upset the Pakistani hierarchy by saying he was going to be the next world champion. He was actually booed on to court in his homeland when he faced Jahangir in the final of the Pakistan Open.
It was an extraordinary rivalry, and although Jahangir forged that incredible unbeaten run, stretching for five and a half years, Jansher was the more skilful player.
Jahangir bullied, bludgeoned and bulldozed his way to victory. But Jansher was able to reinvent his playing style during the course of his career before his knees finally gave up.
