France’s Coline Aumard beat top-seeded Australian Lisa Camilleri for the second time in a week in Australia to win the Women’s North Coast Open in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, against expectation.

The event’s top two seeds reached the final of the WSA Tour 5 event at Coffs Harbour Squash & Swim Centre after four-games semi-final battles – Aumard taking out Hong Kong’s No6 seed Vanessa Chu and Camilleri overcoming compatriot Christine Nunn, the third seed and winner of last week’s New South Wales Open.

Aumard, a 25-year-old from Creteil, near Paris, was marking the seventh final of her career – whilst it was the 29th for 31-year-old Camilleri, though her first of the year.

The French underdog, eager to make up for her loss in the NSW Open final, put in a powerful performance – despatching favourite Camilleri 11-8, 11-6, 11-9 in 32 minutes to claim the third WSA World Tourtitle of her career.
