Egyptian teenager and former world number four Nour El Sherbini has secured a two-year sponsorship agreement with Orouba Misr Construction and Development, Squash Mad can reveal.

The three-time World Junior champion, who reached the final of the 2012 British Open, struck the deal with the Egyptian real estate investment company earlier this month and will now receive funding and new training equipment until the end of 2015.

The delighted 18-year-old said: It’s really great to be sponsored by such a huge organisation like El Orouba. They are really unique in terms of supporting squash and this sponsorship deal is a dream for any athlete.

Her brother and manager Omar added: “In my opinion, squash needs more people like Orouba Misr company people. They have the potential to innovate and promote good causes in our lives so I am glad today that this partnership has happened and I look forward to more in the future.”

In October this year, Orouba opened negotiations with El Sherbini’s management team after the world number 15 opened two new squash courts in their private compound called Sedra, located just north of Alexandria.

Under the terms of the sponsorship agreement, El Sherbini will now play at the Sedra courts once a month, while continuing to support exhibition matches across the country.

El Sherbini will represent Orouba for the first time at the Tournament of Champions next month, where she will be making her much-anticipated return from a series of niggling injuries.
