World No.9 Tarek Momen kicks his heels after a foot injury in Canada

Egyptian World No.9 Tarek Momen has been forced to withdraw from the up-coming AJ Bell British Squash Grand Prix – Manchester 2014, after picking up a foot injury during the recent ReidBuilt Homes Edmonton Open.
As a result, Frenchman Mathieu Castagnet, currently ranked a career high World No.15, will move up in the draw to occupy the number eight seeding which will see him face a qualifier in the opening round while rising Egyptian talent Fares Dessouki is promoted from qualification to join the main draw, where he will face England’s Daryl Selby.
Promoters the InternationalSPORTgroup have announced that the tournament will be broadcast live in the UK by BT Sport.
The pioneering agreement will deliver live coverage and a highlights package from the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. It is a further endorsement of the sport’s growing appeal following the unprecedented success of the AJ Bell World Squash Championship staged in Manchester last year.
Mohamed Elshorbagy, Gregory Gaultier and England’s Nick Matthew, the world’s three highest ranked players, will head a stellar field that will challenge for one of the most eagerly contested events on the Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour to be staged from December 5-8 at National Squash Centre in Manchester.
Further broadcast details will be confirmed nearer to the championship. Alongside BT Sport, the AJ Bell British Squash Grand Prix will be shown live in its entirety on www.psasquashtv.com
