Jenny Duncalf, Yorkshire’s world no.10, has been forced to pull out of next month’s Texas Open due to “an ongoing Achilles problem”.

The 31-year-old from Harrogate was seeded fifth for the WSA Gold 50 event in Houston starting on April 8, but with the prestigious Allam British Open coming up in May, she clearly doesn’t want to aggravate the injury.

“Unfortunately have had to withdraw from the upcoming @TXOSquash due to an ongoing achilles problem. Time to hit the gym for a few weeks,” she tweeted today.

The England international also withdrew from the Windy City Open in February as a precaution because of the injury and the move worked, as she was able to play in the recent World Championship in Malaysia, where she reached the second round before being beaten by eventual champion Laura Massaro.
