Off the Wall Squash and Polar announce partnership
Off The Wall Squash has gone into partnership with Polar, the world’s leading fitness technology company to provide regular use of heart- rate monitors to players at squad and training sessions.
The agreement was reached following successful trials at the recent OTWS training camp held in Cheshire where all players were provided with a Polar HR7 heart rate monitor to use during training, fitness testing and match play. The OTWS coaching team were able to provide players with immediate feedback about training levels and commitment and the data saw players immediately challenge themselves further to maintain high quality performance throughout sessions.
Matt McFahn, Director of Coaching and Operations at OTWS said: “The Polar heart rate monitors were used extensively during the recent Cheshire camp with great success. Players could see how they were performing in real time and this helped keep them to work for longer periods at a higher level.
“The partnership with Polar is our first step in providing leading sports science services and support to squash players who work with us. We have some exciting plans in this area which will be announced over the coming months.”
Andy Moore of Polar UK said: “Polar are always looking for forward- thinking and dynamic organisations who can benefit and maximise the use of our products. Off The Wall Squash have ambitious plans to provide world class squash to everyone so it is a perfect fit. We’ll be working with them over the coming months to see how the Polar equipment benefits players of all age and abilities.”
